China Pictures

I woke up hoping for pictures of our boy.

I was not disappointed.
Many heartfelt thanks to Andrea for delivering our package with love and taking pictures so that those of us at home can be connected to our kids who are waiting.

I am praying for Andrea and her daughter and her new son as they navigate China and prepare to bring him home. He is also a heart baby and it amazes me how we have bonded with people who are facing similar journeys. Andrea visited 3 children at Joshua's orphanage who all have extremely serious heart issues and she understands how precious the updates are when your child is so critically ill.

She reported that Joshua is sweet, adorable, bright, active, and happy. I love all those wonderful adjectives. He looks genuinely happy and excited to get the presents that we sent.
Andrea was even able to talk to the head ayi and the orphanage doctor for a bit more information on the heart kids.

Hoping our Article 5 is picked up this week.

It is really happening.

I am pinching myself.

We are adopting a boy from China.

I am making a list of the lists I need to make.

Actually I am spinning my wheels.

I am about to go with "as long as I have my passport and toothbrush I'll be good" mentality.

Andrea did confirm that Joshua is probably pretty close to size 5 clothes. I may get him a few size 4 bottoms just in case. Now I can start getting him some clothes and we can think about setting up the bed soon. He will only come with the clothes on his back. This is new ground for me as most of my other kids came with the ubiquitous black garbage bag of stuff. He will have NOTHING except a few pictures of him through the years.

Heart breaking.

For all my kids.

Not having anything tangible to document their past.

A hard journey.

  3. We had no pictures of our son through the years; just a brand spanking new outfit and pockets filled with moon cakes and yogurts to comfort him.

It's wonderful that you were able to get these photos and see him with what you sent. Hope your Article 5 is soon, even if it is stressful as all get-out!
