How and why we started our journey is a story for another day but I remember realizing early on that all the children who we had the privilege of having in our home were filled with hopelessness and yearning for something more.
Unconditional love. Isn't that what we all yearn for?
We were following this car up the road, (to a doctor's appointment of course). The license plate reads IAGAPE U and a wonderful discussion ensued about what the word agape meant. I was reminded of the scripture in Deuteronomy:Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Deut. 11:19
Joshua, like all the others, has also latched on to the gospel. He loves his Bible and asks us to read it often. He points out the cross when ever he finds one and says "Jesus." My heart just about explodes when I see how he much he wants to know more about this Savior who came in the form of a babe.
Don't mind the jammies or messy (un-dyed) hair at 7:00 am,
Joshua loves the page where the angels came to the shepherds singing:
"Gloria In Excelsis Deo"
This year, we pulled out the Jesse Tree that I made with a Mom's group in 1999. The little boys have not done this that they can remember and it is fun to introduce them to all the bible stories along the way to Jesus.
We have made it from Creation to Gideon and his fleece.
I've thought of bargaining with God a few times in my life.
Littlest boy just HAS to blow Joshua's horn....
Walls of Jericho beware.
I did not realize
that sharing our faith
didn't need to be something we do,
it is simply who we are.
WHAT CAN I GIVE HIM?
by Christina Rossetti
by Christina Rossetti

"What can I give Him,
Poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd
I would bring a lamb,
If I were a wise man
I would do my part.
Yet what can I give Him?
Give my heart."
Poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd
I would bring a lamb,
If I were a wise man
I would do my part.
Yet what can I give Him?
Give my heart."
That's wonderful, Jennifer.
