Today I left my house at 8:00am and I got home at 8:00pm.
By myself.
For twelve whole hours.
I'm good at math!
Ok. I was in the driveway at 7:59pm and practiced taking
a few pictures to see if they were going to come out.
Eleven hours and 59 minutes.
That's still good, right?
And here is what was waiting for me.
Apple donuts with maple drizzle.
I've had two.
Trust me.
They ARE as good as they look.
Michael and Chris kept me company as I drove down the road. Don't be jealous, dear. After all I was driving your vehicle and the boys were on top of the stack. Michael W. Smith and Chris Tomlin are excellent traveling companions especially when you are ALONE, turning the volume up until the windows vibrate. Because you can!
Today, I had my semi-annual cryfest. I don't often get overwhelmed. As the worship songs played, the tears began to form. I kept it at bay for awhile because I could not find one solitary piece-'o-anything to wipe my nose on in that "Man-Vehicle." Then after multiple searches I found a long forgotten wad of tissues in a side pocket of my green bag.
Floodgates.
Why? Because God is so GOOD. All the time.
I have a wonderful Christ-following husband, amazing kids who I love like crazy, a caring and supportive family of brother, sister, aunts, uncles, and cousins, an awesome church family, friends who love me in spite of me, parents and a mom-in-law who want to be part of our crazy life on a regular basis, blog friends, food, water, and so much more.
And today, I was overwhelmed. With the goodness of it all.
Nothing like music to open the floodgates. Happens to me more than I like to admit. Glad you had a fun all by yourself day!
