Jumping on the bandwagon of giveaways today in honor of 50,000 hits.

Because it is so-so easy to give somebody else's book away!

Carrie is as generous as they come. I won this book from her BLOG which is definitely worth reading.

And now she has offered to allow me to give her book away here.

Carrie is a Christ follower and thinks out loud in the best possible way. She offers insight and perspective that is flavored from the worldview of an American woman living with her family in China, her multicultural-built-through-biology-and-adoption family.

I enjoyed reading her book (she published a cook book too which comes in handy for feeding Joshua some down-home Chinese food, down-home like what you find in China) because I don't want to "fit into this world." My biggest take-away here was the insight of how the Chinese learn and some cultural tips that helped me understand my son better.  The second gift was learning once again that truly, home is where your heart is. Right?

Statistically, it appears that I will hit 50,000 page views on my blog today or tomorrow. About 100 generous-with-their-time/curious people visit here every day.

May I kindly ask? Who are you?

A  lady friend of my mother-in-law stopped me in the warehouse store to visit and tell me how she enjoyed my ponderings. How sweet!

Ok, family stops by. Because I am a horrible letter writer/phone caller/etc, if they want to know, here you go.

If you would like a copy of Redefining Home, would you kindly leave me a comment. And while you are at it, introduce yourself. Say hi. Ask a question. I'd love to meet you!

We will draw a name on Sunday, July 8th.

You have such a way with words in describing your feelings, and what you say sometimes inspires me and sometimes makes me think and sometimes just makes me laugh! Love all the pictures! 9. Hi, I am Amy Weseloh. I visit your blog because I love to see your kids and I think it's wonderful how your family has been created by HIS hand. My hubby and I took foster parent classes but now he has cold feet, so prayers appreciated !

    1. Hi Amy! Thanks for introducing yourself. His hand for sure because twenty years ago I could never have imagined my life now, not a bit. Initially my husband put the stopper on the foster care scene for a bit and then God has his way and actually has made my husband a catalyst for some of our adoptions. Crazy, I know, but praying for you.

  10. I can't remember how I found you but we are Americans, living in China, waiting on NVC cable for a SN adoption. Maybe I found you through no hands but ours or we are grafted in? Our newest little guy will make me momma to five (oldest age 6, gulp!)

I have a lot to learn from ladies like you who have faithfully followed Jesus and mothered many for years more than I have.

  13. Hi Im Lisa, a semi-new blog reader of yours. We are also in the process of adopting a special need little girl from China. Id say we are about 3/4 of the way through paperwork and homestudy with our goal to be dossier-ed by September 1st. I found your blog through CHSFS website and have been a reader ever since. I have to say I love the blog posts about your oldest daughter and her time at the farm/school. As former dairy farmers those posts and pictures brought us smiles. About a month ago we in your neck of the woods.. sorta-kinda .. for a graduation in Bethel Maine... we are in Minnesota.. and I had never been East of Chicago... I must say you live in a gorgeous area.

Thank You for sharing your life and family.
