Thursday - CA
Cameras do not like hot and humid. This happened a lot when we went from AC to outside. We just arrived at the US Consulate for our appointment and since no cameras are allowed, we asked our guide to take our picture outside. She was very nervous and made us face the other way. She did not want security to take our camera.
Our appointment was very quick. After going through security, we waited with two other families who were both adopting two orphans each so there were a total of 5 adoptees and three families. We took our oath, signed another paper, and away we went.
Hey Kristel, look what was right next door ?
Joshua has the camera again. He loves that he has a watch like Mom and Dad.

The usual state of his fingers, slightly purple at the ends..
What a goofball.

Pouring rain today. Happy to have my dual purpose umbrella that I bought yesterday.
After our big morning out, we treated ourselves to the buffet lunch in our hotel. When we were seated, the server brought us a plate of hors d'oeuvres. What in the world is all of that?
Our best guess was raw salmon, octopus, and undetermined. Bob said it was mushy but good. He ate the whole thing.
Joshua enjoyed what Joshua eats.
One of the most interesting parts of the lunch was getting up and walking around to see what all the Chinese were eating and which foods they were combining.
Shrimp anyone?
Or how about jelly fish. Everything was well marked, thank goodness.
Watch out for the tentacles.
He had it all and then some!
After that much excitement in one day, we all took a nap.
I will admit that, today, we hit the proverbial wall.
After our last official appointment, we are ready to go home.
Our time in China has been good for me. I have used it well, reflecting on what was left behind at home and what I want to be different when I get back.
Tomorrow we pack up and head to Hong Kong.
Praying for safe travel... I love all the pics :)
