I'm a Believer in Kindermusik

I enrolled Micah and Trey in Kindermusik. This was the year that they could do a lot of things together (in that 18 months to 3 year range.) WOW! They both progressed developmentally a lot and I believe that Kindermusik helped tremendously. Both Micah and Trey are great kids yet have some developmental unknowns, so when we experience a breakthrough with a certain method I am very excited.

Micah grew up before my eyes. This week he is up to 2 and 3 word sentences. He participated in everything and was extra good about putting things away and following directions.
Trey observes everything. He followed along and learned lots of new songs that he would be heard humming later. So cool!
Egg shakers provide crossing the corp, a developmental must according to our excellent teacher.
Egg rolling is also a beneficial and FUN exercise.
I can't stand how cute they are.
This is Kristi, a very gifted teacher, who is willing to explain the benefits of the activities. She also sings every instruction. It is amazing how that works.

I could hardly watch this as the time went on. I think I will be getting David Platt's book "Radical" and reading it. The media has desensitized us to so much. That is why I was surprised that I was "affected" by this. God must be moving in my heart, mind, and soul. Or it could be that Francis Chan's "Crazy Love" book has moved me from lukewarm to striving to live each day as though it might be the last.

Our First Graduation

On May 14, 2010, we attended our first college graduation. Our oldest daughter graduated with an Associate's Degree in Visual Arts. She will be going to a University in the fall to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science. I am so proud of her. She used her first two years to figure out what she wanted to do her second two years. She did it well graduating with High Honors.

It was long. We gathered on the lawn and played with the little ones while the names were being read, all hundreds of them. Thank goodness for the other mom who thought to bring a few little cars and convinced her son to share with my sons. Clearly we weren't the only ones camping out.
She was quite impressed to be at her first college graduation. Imagine how many she will attend in her lifetime...

Visit to the Farm with Farm-Woman

We got to go with Lindsey to the farm on Saturday. Just me and the littles.

Micah, on the other hand, is not so sure but willing to look. What is it about kids, their faces, and baby animals. Absolutely precious!
"Come on, Micah. Touch it," Mom says.
"I don't know about this. It is moving," Micah reluctantly suggests.
What could be in here?
"I'll be your friend."
