My Real Life Guitar Heros

WE WIlLL, WE WILL,....ROCK ON.....ROCK ON! We know how to rock on in this family. Broom guitars are so cool. Well, my kids are so cool.

This one has the moves.
This one is pretty silly and fun.
They make an awesome rock band.
Not to be outdone by these two!
Decked out in appropriate eyewear with pint sized cleaning (weapons) tools.
These guys are the coolest sweetest rockstars I know.
I'm jammin'.
I'm cute.
Putting it all together.
Micah is having technical difficulties with his..ahem..."guitar."
Slammin'.
Ultra cool!
Making the moves.
Criss cross!
Too much fun!
Singin' the blues.
Oh yeah, baby.
The eyewear is fashionable, don't you think?
Lurking in the hallway.....I caught this one looking in the mirror.
Okay, you have to do it too.
She can rock out like nobody's business.
Love the smile.
We can't leave this one out.
Future rock star.
Double protection.
I love these silly kids.

Erika's Special Day

This smilin' beauty's last night as a "10." She will always be a "10" in my book.
She picked Red Velvet cake for her special day. Never made that before. What the heck does red velvet taste like? A drape? That's all I can think of. Isn't it great when your cake matches your wall?
How awesome is this when they get old enough to want to frost their own cake?
She is doing a fabulous job with the butter cream frosting.
Of course, decorations are in order complete with the date 3 29 10, a very good day.
Oh dear, we forgot the candles. Erika ran to the cupboard to find the candles she had hastily picked out and plopped them on the cake.
Oh, here they are. All 11 of them.
Our fearless self-proclaimed fire starter.
Can't seem to get it started....
O.K. we got them all lighted. I mean lit! I cannot tell you how many matches it took.
She looks utterly impressed.
Here goes the first blow!
Only to discover...
that she picked out the sparkler candles, accidently I think. Wish I had a sound byte, oh did we laugh.
She tries again. She huffs...
and did she do it? Alas.....
to no avail.
And then she puffs...
until she conquers the sparkler candles!
That was hard work! Well done wonderful girl!

My Little Loves

She's five months.
He's twenty months.
He's thirty-two months.
Couldn't their dark eyes just eat you up?

I love these little buggers.

Story Time

These pictures tell their own story. Lindsey is having story time with the crowd. Watch for the hips and the posturing of the bodies. It was way too cute. They are all such good friends.
"I wanna see!"

"You're crowdin' me buddy."
"Not budgin' bro!"
"This IS my space."
"Oh yeah?"

What's For Lunch On The Day After

Here is what I had for lunch on Easter Monday. In an attempt to eat a little better after my jelly bean sugar high on Sunday, which by the way resulted in a temper tantrum (mine) on the way down, I thought some left over salad with a chicken patty cut up would be on the healthier side of things.
One rule I have stuck to is that you eat what is on the table. No special meals, etc. etc. However, you may create whatever you want from what is available. Today's menu was chicken patties with left over salad, veggie platter, and applesauce. Here is what Creative Cora had for lunch.
Here is Cora enjoying her masterpiece.
This is how I am eating these days. Surrounded by love!

Threes & Counting & Blessings

I am counting my blessings in THREES.

First came these three.

Then these three blended in.
And for now, these three are blessing us beyond measure.

When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings. Wealth can never buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Note to self: Do not try to contrive blog post. Posed photos specifically for a blog post don't work. Lesson learned.
