Blast From The Past

The kids couldn't find the card for the camera so they went hunting.

I went to download my photos and found a blast from the past!

The boys were in a Charles Dickens musical.

Christmas with Santa.
Oops! Where did that come from.
Stop!
Drop!
And roll!
Picture with the Governor.
First day of school. EVER.
Jerrod went to school for the first time in 10th grade.
I liked Jerrod's blonde hair phase.
Too cute!
Goodness, he was a pudgy boy.
He's still the baby.
That was fun to remember the kids over the last three years.

Nesting 101

Home improvement project.

AKA: keeping busy.

Before, but after painting started:

During:
The kids were worried that I would fall down the stairs.
After:
A tri-color scheme and a lot of de-cluttering.
A fun picture by Erika.
Toy of choice these days.

Mistaken Identity

I ordered a bunch of stuff.

I left the box on the floor of my room.

I got up early one day to take a shower.

It was dark.

I reached into the box to get the shampoo and creme rinse.
This is a new company for me and I am trying different products.

The shampoo lathered up okay.

I had to use quite a bit of shampoo.

I thought this stuff was supposed to be concentrated.

The creme rinse wasn't quite right.

It made my hair feel weird after it dried.

Being a good sport, I believe in giving most things (and people) a second try.

After all, I didn't want to make a snap decision.

The next time I took a shower, it must have been closer to noon than midnight.

i.e. I was more awake.

I looked at the bottles a little closer.

I realized that I didn't buy shampoo and creme rinse.

I washed my hair with liquid hand soap.
And moisturized my locks with hand lotion.
I will NOT be giving this another try.

But I did have a good laugh.

I am so distracted these days.

Focus

I need to focus on TODAY and not worry about tomorrow.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6:34

Day 27.

Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the LORD,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.

Psalm 37:3-6

Hanging on God's every word today.
Oh, little man, that you would know Him too!

Worth Listening

Still Counting

Day 26.

May God be glorified in the wait.

I am anxious.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Philippians 4:6

The reality is that we could still wait a month or more for LOA.

Our dossier is in process according to the CCCWA.

May God be glorified in the wait.

I know God's timing is perfect.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5,6

Daddy Day

Happy Father's Day to my husband.
We never dreamed of the life we have together.
I couldn't imagine doing it with anyone else but you.

First time fishing!
The only catch of the day - caught by Kloey!

Only God could perfect this glory!

Going pickin'.
Digging deeper.
Oh yuck! Why do they do that?
Pictures by Erika Peterson.

I was home alone.....painting.

Beating Heart

Day 25.

My heart is beating a little faster today.

25 days since our dossier was logged in.

38 days since our dossier flew to China.

A friend who expedited got their LOA in 26 days.

Come on LOA, we're ready.

And Joshua is waiting.

His heart needs us.

Hammer and Nails

There comes a day when
a boy NEEDS a hammer and nails
almost more than he needs his Mommy.
Gross motor, fine motor, concentration and.....
NOISE.
Is there anything better than the smile
of a three year old who has a sense of accomplishment?
Watch and learn, Micah.
Watch and learn.
Ignore my messy porch, it's next on the list after painting.

The Farmer Comes to Visit

Look who came by the other day.
Ok, I am being funny.
She does live here.
But she doesn't usually drive this.
The farmer came to make a special delivery.
The kids made a beeline for the farmer.
They amassed out of nowhere.
Don't let anyone tell you it doesn't cost
anything to feed and clothe a rabbit.

Then she struck the farmer pose
and chewed the fat for a few minutes.

I think she looks GOOD in a pickup truck.
"Mom, I really don't want you taking my picture."
Thank you, Farmer, for dropping off bedding for the bunnies.

You're the best!
