Three on the third.
Three kids born on the third of November.
One special little girl and a set of twins.
Because we have biology going on, we were invited to the birthday party.
And this is when it hits me.
What "open adoption" is all about.
Family.
Relationships.
Showing the love of Christ to the hopeless and lost.
No reason. No agenda.
Just because,
we love because Christ first loved us.
Kloey has a nurturing heart.
The twins are not light weights.
Then again, neither was this little fella.

Just like it is hard to take a decent picture of these five together.....
the growing up part won't be easy.
There will be questions that don't have answers.
Grief that cannot be soothed with a hug and a kiss.
The future in God's hands, His plan.
The gift is in the giving.
When a mom who has been misunderstood, downtrodden, and unsupported most of her life gets to stand with her children.....
friends, that is joy.
Pure joy.

Open adoption is something I admire greatly, but to be honest it scares me a little. We have one adoption that is a semi-open situation, and it has been a little challenging. Probably has made me grow and stretch, but it's not without it's issues. So proud of what you are doing. These little ones don't know how lucky they are to have you in their lives!
ReplyDeleteRebecca, We have no official or legal agreement. We have only done what seems like the right thing to do so far. Our other three girls have no contact at all and there are up-falls and down-falls to that as well. Each and every situation needs to be prayerfully considered.
