Sunday, From Hangzhou to Guangzhou

Our last morning at the Marriott in Gangzhou. We have figured out some of Joshua's favorites. Noodles, eggs, and dumplings or bread of some sort.
He went right to this station every morning. The boy knows what he wants.Doesn't this sound yummy, kids, at 7:30 in the morning?My last breakfast. I decided I had better find out what the noodle craze is all about.Our favorite server. He was so attentive and loved up on us. He also enjoyed practicing his English.
Breakfast buffet.Joshua is in control of the elevator and room key. He completely has it figured out.Joshua has the camera again.
This is a picture of my computer screen that he took. The boy in the middle is his best friend from the orphanage who was adopted in January 2011.

The van that took us to the airport in Gangzhou. Bob was worried that we were going to have to cram into a taxi. Our agency is taking good care of us!!!Vivian and Joshua. She is an amazing girl. She truly cares for the kids.
On our way to the airport. We asked Vivian to prepare him but what do you suppose he was thinking? Leaving Hangzhou, flying on an airplane, a very big day.All along the roads in Hangzhou were these beautifully terraced landscapes.
Made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare. Vivian checked us in and we made it through security. Actually, I was the only one who set off the alarm. Hello wand. Usually Bob has the honors. The signs are fun in China.About ready to get on the airplane. I will spare you the 40 plus pictures he took of airplanes and moving vehicles out on the jetway.

We are on the plane. The staff did not understand us very well about the possibility of needing emergency oxygen. We said a prayer. Joshua immediately took the card out of the seatback pocket and read the directions, out loud, in Chinese.
This one's for you Verna. Shoot me now. The kid went from Level 1, #7 to Level 2 ,#9 in no time. I am sorry I gave you a hard time about letting my kids play Angry Birds. Really sorry.

Thank you, Joshua for taking lots of pictures of clouds. They are beautiful.We were quite concerned about how Joshua would do on the flight with his oxygen saturation being so low. I had read that heart kids get sleepy so we were not surprised when he immediately conked out for an hour after taking off. He woke up, ate some food, and seemed absolutely no worse for wear. Praise the Lord. The flight was about 1 hour and 45 minutes. It seemed to go by quick.

In China, when you gate check your stroller, you do NOT get it back at the gate. You have to walk to the baggage claim, or ride as the case may be. We improvised.
Our sweet guide in Guangzhou met us with a van and off we went to our Marriott. She showed us around the area and gave us some pointers on what to do. Nearby there are several parks to walk in, a 7-Eleven for snacks, and the King's Tomb to visit. We will be on our own a bit more than Hangzhou but that is okay, I think we are ready.

All in all, a great day.
